If you want to earn millions, forget it! However, I have found weblogging is fantastic for talking to unknown strangers, and I am finding you can earn enough to live off. It’s a great simple business.
Last year I had the opportunity of interviewing 70 business that had grown from $1 million to $5 million. Fantastic insights into how build a business, its amazing how all of them had different stories, but there was some similarities that shone out. A majority of them faced one major problem initially and that was Time management, then they would work on staff, product, and then face marketing with out them. All of them had great businesses, but without a doubt all of them had staff, and risk, and borrowing problems , a and cash flow and trouble smiling and anger and more importantly they were all predominately 50-60, and so very tired.
There was 4 exceptions, all of them had one thing in common – an online business with a product that was under $200. They had no customer head aches, no cash flow problems, market was a science not a chore.
And I looked at my businesses and saw cashflow issues, painful clients, per sale items of over $50,000. Pitches and clients and pain.
And I took a chance.
And its working.
Not as well as my other businesses, but with out a drop of blood, and smile as a type.
I find for some topics I am a better editor so I have an Indian fellow giving me ideas for $200 a month, and I am outsourcing the indexing and seo, and I am stealing some of my designers time for graphics, but the core, the essence I am creating.
And I love it…
